Benjamin was born on April 14th, 1776 in Suttons Creek, Perquimans Co., NC. Benjamin 's father was Joseph ANDERSON and his mother was Mary ALBERTSON. His paternal grandparents were John ANDERSON and Sarah WILSON ; his maternal grandparents were William ALBERTSON and Sarah PRITCHARD. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Samuel L. , John , William Henry , Isaac , Sarah , Abigail , Miriam and Elizabeth . He was the oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Chalkley and Hannah .-
