...lack of evidence for any other Nicholas Albertson in America during the 1630s.
...well-substantiated case of another family that migrated from Scituate, MA, to Perquimans, NC. It was George Sutton and family. That last name is suggestive, since Nicholas Albertson was married to a Sutton - Mary Sutton.
...the religious tendency. There is no evidence that Nicholas was a Quaker, and in fact the Quakers did not even come to America until the 1650s. But the fact that he baptized his own children indicates an Anabaptist influence, and a strongly independent bent. So he or his children could well have become Quakers in later years.

Nicholas and Albert lived in Scituate, MA
The history of Scituate, Massachusetts (northernmost town in Plymouth Colony) by
Samuel Deane includes a paragraph on Nicholas "the swede" Albeson. He was an unusual
character, as he did things such as baptizing his own children. Therefore, there is no record of the names of his children. He had a home there beginning in 1636, and his home was one of the many Scituate homes burned during King Philip's War in 1676.
Notes for Nicholas (Albeson) Albertson:
Genealogical and family history of western New York p 1335
"There are quite distinct families bearing the name Albertson in various parts of the United States. One of the first emigrants to Massachusetts bore this name; he is said to have been a Swede. There is an family early established in North Carolina. Again the name is found among the earliest Dutch emigrants to New Amsterdam; the first of the
name arrived in September, 1640, and a child of this surname was baptized in 1650."
Additional info:
Children of Nicholas Albertson and Mary Sutton are:
i. Nicholas Albertson, born Abt. 1636 in Situate, MA.
Date of birth and location of birth leads to belief that this Nicholas Albertson b. 1636 born in Situate, Mass. is very probably the son of Nicholas "the Swede" Albertson b, 1616 of Situate, Mass.
