Margaret Ann (Peggy) was born in 1788 in Monongalia County, (W)VA. Margaret Ann (Peggy)'s father was Richard D. II Tennant and her mother was Elizabeth Haught. Her paternal grandparents were Richard D. Tennant and Janet Wark; her maternal grandparents were Peter 1st Haught and Rebecca Tennant. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named Peter, Richard D. III, William, Alexander, Joseph S., John, Adam, Abraham J., Jacob Aaron, Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah Catherine (Aunt Kit). She was the third youngest of the thirteen children.-
