Adam Tennant 
Adam was born in 1784 in Clay District, Monongalia County, WV. Adam's father was Richard D. II Tennant and his mother was Elizabeth Haught. His paternal grandparents were Richard D. Tennant and Janet Wark; his maternal grandparents were Peter 1st Haught and Rebecca Tennant. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Peter, Richard D. III, William, Alexander, Joseph S., John, Abraham J., Jacob Aaron, Mary, Elizabeth, Margaret Ann (Peggy) and Sarah Catherine (Aunt Kit). He was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children.-
