Lela Gertrude Whitten 
Lela Gertrude was born on October 25th, 1885 in , Bell Co., Texas.1 Lela Gertrude's father was Robert Weir Johnson Whitten and her mother was Lucy Emma Davis. Her paternal grandparents were Alfred Carnes Whitten and Sarah Frances Kenneda; her maternal grandparents were Reuben E Davis and Elizabeth Whitaker. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Reuben Luther, Robert Glover, Jewel Clark, Ernest William, Mary Edith, Ida Alwilda, Lillian Ruth and Grace. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 46 on December 14th, 1931 in Vernon, Wilbarger Co., Texas.1 -
