Archabold was born in 1831 in Tennessee.1 Archabold's father was James A Crawford and his mother was Rachel Sawyers Crawford. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Crawford and Rachel Lesley; his maternal grandparents were John Crawford and Margaret Buchanan. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John Alexander, William Hay, James Leslie, Pleasant Alfred, Isaac C, Thomas Edward, Margaret M, Rachel Emma and Nancy J.
