Mary Isabella was born on August 24th, 1848 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.1 Mary Isabella's father was David Buchanan and her mother was Rebecca Crawford. Her paternal grandparents were David Buchanan and Margaret Steele; her maternal grandparents were William Crawford and Rachael Titus. She had six brothers and seven sisters, named Baby Boy, William S, Andrew J, David C, Henry Clay, Marcus T, Rachel T, Louisa, Margaret, Martha Jane, Rebecca Ann, Elizabeth P and Sarah Emoline.
