David Buchanan 
David was born on September 29th, 1802 in Davidson County, Tennessee.1 David's father was David Buchanan and his mother was Margaret Steele. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Buchanan and Johanna Hays. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Andrew, Samuel Steele, Martha Steele, Mary, Joanna and Isabella. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 69 on March 19th, 1872 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.1 General Notes

1850 census for Lincoln County, Tennessee lists David Buchanan, age 47
yr. born in Tennessee, a farmer and Rebecca Buchanan, born same, age 45
yr. with children: William S. age 22, farmer, Martha age 17, David age
14, R ebecca age 12, Elizabeth age 10, Sarah age 8, Henry Clay age 5,
Marcus age 3, and Mary age 1. All children born in Tennessee. We are not
certain if all of these are children of Rebecca and David, listed as they
are. This needs more proof.
