Andrew was born on October 10th, 1791.1 Andrew's father was David Buchanan and his mother was Margaret Steele. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Buchanan and Johanna Hays. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Samuel Steele, David, Martha Steele, Mary, Joanna and Isabella. He was the second oldest of the seven children.General Notes
