Mark Collis Butler 
Mark Collis was born on June 9th, 1882 in Trimble County, Kentucky. Mark Collis' father was Joseph Forest Butler and his mother was Nancy Jane Pendleton. His paternal grandparents were John Ferguson Butler and Frances Jane Farley; his maternal grandparents were Robert H. Pendleton and Sarah "Sallie" Peak. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin Franklin , Charles, John Robert, Joseph Foster, Sarah "Sallie", Mary Elizabeth and Ely. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 90 on October 5th, 1972 in Trimble County, Kentucky. He was buried in Moffett Cemetery, Trimble County, Kentucky.General Notes

"In March of 1875 Joseph and Nancy Jane purchased a farm in the Liberty neighborhood of Trimble County and moved their family there. Their third daughter, Ely, named for the well-liked Dr. Ely, was born 7 February 1877. John Robert, the seventh child, arrived in January 1879. Their last child, Mark Collis, named for a prominent Christian minister, was born 9 June 1882. Nancy Jane Pendleton Butler died in 1897 of infammation of the bowels (appendicitis) and on 15 April 1914 Joseph Forest Butler died of acute indigestion (probably a heart attack)."
"The marriage of Minnis Baskett Snyder and Mark C. Butler, delayed by the death of his father, took place on 28 July 1914. On 24 July 1915 the author of this family history made his entrance into the world."

BUTLER, MARK C., SENIOR, 90, Milton, died 5 October 1972, buried Moffett Cemetery (born Trimble County 9 June 1882)son of Joseph Farley and Nancy Pendleton Butler. Wife, Minnie Butler, died January 1967. Survived by three sons, Mark C., Jr., Harold and General Benjamin J. Butler, two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Louise) Hoffman and Mrs. Leroy (Nancy)Munier. He was the last surviving member of a family of five brothers and three sisters.
