Joseph Foster Butler 
Joseph Foster was born on March 23rd, 1874 in Trimble County, Kentucky. Joseph Foster's father was Joseph Forest Butler and his mother was Nancy Jane Pendleton. His paternal grandparents were John Ferguson Butler and Frances Jane Farley; his maternal grandparents were Robert H. Pendleton and Sarah "Sallie" Peak. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin Franklin , Charles, John Robert, Mark Collis, Sarah "Sallie", Mary Elizabeth and Ely. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 80 on October 23rd, 1954 in Trimble County, Kentucky. He was buried in Moffett Cemetery, Trimble County, Kentucky.General Notes

"Disappointed with Missouri, Robert H. and Sarah Pendleton, their youngest son, Robert G., and Joseph and Nancy Jane Pendleton Butler and their family returned to Trimble County where Robert H. bought a farm in Cooper's Bottom below Milton. While Joseph and Nancy Jane lived on this farm a fourth child, Charles, was born to them in 1870. In March 1874 their fifth child, Joseph Foster, was born."
