George W. was born about 1904 in Trimble County, Kentucky. George W.'s father was Benjamin Franklin Butler and his mother was Brook Baker. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Forest Butler and Nancy Jane Pendleton; his maternal grandfather was John H. Baker. He had a sister named Bulah B.. He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named William , Allie, Mary T. and Laura Brook. He died about June 8th, 1942 in Camp Shelby, Mississippi. He was buried in Moffett Cemetery, Trimble County, Kentucky.General Notes

Butler, George W., 38 died ca 8 June 1942, buried Moffett Cemetery, Trimble County, Kentucky; former resident of Trimble County, son of Mrs. Ben Butler, survived by sisters Mrs. Alice Curry, Mrs. Amer Archer (Mary) Asher and Bulah B. Butler, a brother William Franklin Butler. Sergeant Butler died at Camp Shelby, Mississippi.
