Philip I of France 
Philip I was born in 1052.1 Philip I's father was Henri I of France and his mother was Anne of Russia. His paternal grandparents were Robert II of France and Constance of Toulouse; his maternal grandparents were Jaroslav I of Kiev and Ingeborg of Sweden. He had a brother named Hugh. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 56 on July 29th, 1108 in Melun, France.1 General Notes

Philip I (b. 1052--d. July 29/30, 1108, Melun, Fr.), king of Fra nce (1059/60-1108) who came to the throne at a time when the Cap etian monarchy was extremely weak but who succeeded in enlargin g the royal treasury by a policy of devious alliances, the sal e of his neutrality in the quarrels of powerful vassals, and th e practice of simony on a huge scale. Philip was the elder son o f Henry I of France by his second wife, Anne of Kiev. Crowned a t Reims in May 1059, he became sole king on his father's death i n 1060.
