Charles Constantine 
Charles' father was Louis "the Blind" and his mother was Anna. His paternal grandparents were Boso of Provence and Ermengarde; his maternal grandparents were Leo VI of Byzantium and Zoe Tzautzina. He had a half-brother named Charles Constantine.1 General Notes

The marriage of Leo VI's daughter and Louis the Blind is also un likely ever to have been consummated. A great deal of ink has be en spilled on this question, with the overwhelming result that t hose who thought Charles Constantine's mother was Byzantine stil l thought so, and those who thought she wasn't, still thought sh e wasn't. At the very least, it was HIGHLY unlikely, and no moti vation for such a marriage between the purple-born daughter o f a reigning Vicar of Christ on Earth and a minor Carolingian lo ng since driven from his claims to imperial or even regal powe r has ever been suggested. No daughter of a Byzantine Emperor wa s sent to the West again until the unhappy decadent days when Is aac II's daughter was sent to Sicily in a desperate diplomatic a ttempt to gain an ally against the infuriated and powerful Venet ians. (It didn't work.)
