Hugh was born about 0895.1 Hugh's father was Robert I of France and his mother was Beatrice de Vermandois. His paternal grandparents were Robert the Strong and Adelaide; his maternal grandparents were Hubert I de Vermandois Ct of Senlis & Peronne and Beatrice de Morvois. He had a sister named Hildebrante. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother named Hugh. He died in Deurdan. He was buried in St. Denis.1 1 General Notes
