Margaret was born about 1218 in of Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 Margaret's father was Roger de Quincy Earl of Winchester and her mother was Helen McDonald de Galloway. Her paternal grandparents were Saire de Quincy IV Earl of Winchester and Margaret de Harcourt; her maternal grandparents were Alan of Galloway Earl of Galloway and Ragnhild (Hilda) of the Isles. She had a sister named Helen (Elena). She was the older of the two children.1 General Notes
