Olaf of Man Bitling was born about 1080 in Isle of Man.1 Olaf of Man Bitling's father was Godred "Crovan" King of Dublin & Man. His paternal grandfather was Harald the Black of Ysland. He was an only child. He died on June 29th, 1153.1 General Notes

The third (1986) edition of the Royal Historical Society's
Handbook of British Chronology' says Olaf I was the son of
Godred I (Croven) who ruled from 1079-95. Godred was perhaps
the son of Harald the Black of Ysland and has been conjectured
to be the grandson of Godred son of Harold who was probably
the ruler of Man in 979.
