David I The Saint was born about 1080 in Scotland.1   David I The Saint's father was Malcolm III Caennmor King of Scots and his mother was Margaret the Exile of England.  His paternal grandparents were Duncan I MacCrinan the Gracious King of Scots and Aelflaed (Sybil) of Northumbria; his maternal grandparents were Edward the Exile of the West Saxons and Agatha von Braunschweig. He had two sisters named Matilda (Edith) of Scotland and Mary.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Duncan II of Scotland.  He died on May 24th, 1154 in Carlisle.  He was buried in Dunfermline.1 1
