Edgar The Peaceful was born in 0943 in Wessex, England.1 Edgar The Peaceful's father was Edmund I the Magnificent King of England and his mother was St. AElfgifu (of Wessex). His paternal grandparents were Edward the Elder King of Wessex and Eadgifu (Edgiva) of Kent. He was an only child. He died in Wessex, England. He was buried in Glastonbury Abbey.1 1 General Notes

his Danish subjects to retain Danish laws. Edgar promoted a
monastic revival & encourgaed trade by reforming the currency.
He improved defense by organizing coastal naval patrols & a
