Edmund I the Magnificent King of England 
Edmund I the Magnificent was born in 0920 in Wessex, England.1 Edmund I the Magnificent's father was Edward the Elder King of Wessex and his mother was Eadgifu (Edgiva) of Kent. His paternal grandparents were Alfred the Great King of England and Ealhswith of the Gaini of Mercia; his maternal grandfather was Sigehelm Ealdorman of Kent. He had two half-sisters named Edgifu and Eadgyth (Edith). He died in Pocklechurch, England.1 General Notes

Stabbed to death (assasinated).
Reigned 940-946. An outlaw, Leolf, stabbed him to death at a
banquet to St. Augustine. He expelled the Norse King Olaf from
Nothumbria in 944. He supported Dunstan in the reintroduction
of the Monastic rule of St. Benedict.
