James Luther Kempson 
James Luther was born on January 8th, 1898 in Newberry County, SC.1 James Luther's father was Henry Levi Kempson and his mother was Minnie Shealy. His maternal grandparents were Luther Shealy and Martha Bowers. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Arthur Alvin, Leland Austin, Mary Ellen (Mae), Myrtle Lee and Katie Lou Alva. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 81 on December 5th, 1979 in Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina. He was buried in Elmwood Cemetry, Columbia, South Carolina.1 1 -
