Luther was born on October 1st, 1851 in In or Near Little Mountain, Newberry County, SC.1 Luther's father was John George Shealy and his mother was Catherine "Katie" Boland. His maternal grandparents were Abram Boland and Eva Christina Sease. He had seven brothers and nine sisters, named William Charlton, Walter, John Westley, George Michael, Mike, Wesley, Charlie, Elizabeth Christine, Mary Ann Magdaline, Mary Ann Magdaline, Jane, Elvie Frances, Mary Ann, Jane, Betty and Frances. He died at the age of 83 on December 20th, 1934. He was buried in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery, Little Mountain, SC.1 1 -
