Hugh de Keveliock was born in 1147 in Kevelioc, Merionethshire (Monmouth), Wales.1   Hugh de Keveliock's father was Ranulf IV de Gernon Earl of Chester and his mother was Maud FitzRobert.  His paternal grandparents were Ranulf le Meschines III Earl of Chester and Lucy de Taillebois; his maternal grandparents were Robert de Caen "the Consul" Earl of Gloucester and Amabel FitzHamon. He had a half-brother named Hugh.  He died at the age of 34 on June 30th, 1181 in Leeke, Stafford, England.1
