Fought at the Battle of Val-es-Dunes.
In Douglas' *William the Conqueror*, p 92-93, there is only a
discussion of Ranulf (spelled Rannulf here) numbers I and II.
Douglas states that Ranulf I was "the son of a vicomte named
Anschitil", and that he "survived until after April 1089",
which I didn't know before.
