Simon I de Lorraine Duke of Upper Lorraine 
Simon I de Lorraine was born in 1072.1 Simon I de Lorraine's father was Thierry II de Lorraine Duke of Lorraine and his mother was Gertrude de Holland. His paternal grandparents were Gerard II de Lorraine Duke of Lorraine and Hedwige de Namuer; his maternal grandparents were Robert I 'le Frison' Ct of Flanders & Artois and Gertrude von Sachsen. He had two brothers named Theodore de Alsace and Dietrich (Thierry) de Alsace. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 67 on April 19th, 1139.1 General Notes
