Myrtle Imogene was born on September 1st, 1895 in Louisa Co., VA. Myrtle Imogene's father was John William Thomas Thurston and her mother was Frances Lewis Grubbs. Her paternal grandparents were William H. Thurston and Elizabeth Butler; her maternal grandparents were Frederick J. Grubbs and Sallie A. Newman. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James Edward, Emmet Coleman, John Lindsay, Robert Roy, Brownie Cohart and Lillian Beatrice. She was the third youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 73 in 1968.-
