James Edward Thurston 
James Edward was born on June 5th, 1888 in Louisa Co., VA. James Edward's father was John William Thomas Thurston and his mother was Frances Lewis Grubbs. His paternal grandparents were William H. Thurston and Elizabeth Butler; his maternal grandparents were Frederick J. Grubbs and Sallie A. Newman. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Emmet Coleman, John Lindsay, Robert Roy, Brownie Cohart, Myrtle Imogene and Lillian Beatrice. He was the oldest of the seven children.-
