William H. was born about 1832 in Goochland Co., VA. William H.'s father was John Thurston and his mother was Louisa F. Poor. His paternal grandparents were John Thurston and Jane Page; his maternal grandparents were Edward H. Poor and Martha A. Carden. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Edward W., Isaac Newton, John Dow, Thomas I., Virginia, Elizabeth, Louisa A., Margaret J. and Victoria. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died before 1868 in Goochland Co., VA.-
