Virginia was born about 1830 in Goochland Co., VA. Virginia's father was John Thurston and her mother was Louisa F. Poor. Her paternal grandparents were John Thurston and Jane Page; her maternal grandparents were Edward H. Poor and Martha A. Carden. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William H., Edward W., Isaac Newton, John Dow, Thomas I., Elizabeth, Louisa A., Margaret J. and Victoria. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died before 1868.-
