Benjamin Strother Nicklin 
Benjamin Strother was born on October 8th, 1831.1 Benjamin Strother's father was John Bailey Nicklin and his mother was Catharine Thornton Pendleton. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Nicklin and Elizabeth Calvert; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin Pendleton and Elizabeth Strother. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Samuel Church, John Bailey, William Fuller, Elizabeth Catharine, Martha Virginia, Mary Marshall, Lucy Crane and Laura Pendleton. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 41 on August 17th, 1873.1 -
