Thomas Franklin was born on June 30th, 1863. Thomas Franklin's father was Joseph Poe Nichols and his mother was Pantheah Royall Overbey. His maternal grandparents were Henderson Overbey and Elizabeth Royster. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Robert Coleman, Henderson Arthur, Joseph Lee, Elizabeth Elenor, Mary Matilda, Martha Ellis, Nellie, William Walter, Carrie and Katie. He was the third oldest of the eleven children.-
