Henderson Arthur was born on August 28th, 1867. Henderson Arthur's father was Joseph Poe Nichols and his mother was Pantheah Royall Overbey. His maternal grandparents were Henderson Overbey and Elizabeth Royster. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Robert Coleman, Thomas Franklin, Joseph Lee, Elizabeth Elenor, Mary Matilda, Martha Ellis, Nellie, William Walter, Carrie and Katie. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.-
