Tarlton Layne 
Tarlton was born on October 30th, 1764 in Goochland Co., Virginia. Tarlton's father was Ayers Layne and his mother was Mary Woodson. His paternal grandparents were John Layne and Elizabeth Ayers; his maternal grandparents were Robert Woodson and Rebecca Pryor. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Frederick, John, Woodson, Lewis, Benjamin Woodson, George, Sally, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 54 on July 1st, 1819 in Shelby Co., Kentucky.-
