John Layne 
John was born on April 4th, 1767. John's father was Ayers Layne and his mother was Mary Woodson. His paternal grandparents were John Layne and Elizabeth Ayers; his maternal grandparents were Robert Woodson and Rebecca Pryor. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Frederick, Tarlton, Woodson, Lewis, Benjamin Woodson, George, Sally, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.-
