Edward Quarles Ladd 
Edward Quarles was born on September 3rd, 1891. Edward Quarles' father was Thomas Mifflin Ladd and his mother was Katherine Frances Childress. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mifflin Ladd and Lucy Elizabeth Cowardin. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Walter Ira, Marion Calvin, Annie Elizabeth, Eva Frances, Ora Lou and Ota Lee. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Bernard Goodall, Robert Hill, James Russell, Thomas Mifflin, Lucy Winston, Ellen Douglas and Sarah Mildred.-
