John Thomas Harless 
John Thomas was born on August 30th, 1855 in Shelby Co., AL. John Thomas' father was George Richard Crowson Harless and his mother was Piety Butler. His paternal grandparents were Henry Harless and Margaret Basore; his maternal grandparents were James McGehee Butler and Candace Dicey. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Henry N., Robert E., James Lafayette, Benjamin Franklin, J. M. L. Curry, William M., Elizabeth, Charlotte Y. and Mary Jane. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 40 in 1895.-
