Christopher was born in 1786 in Elbert Co., GA. Christopher's father was James McGehee Butler and his mother was Sarah Christopher. His paternal grandparents were Zachariah Butler and Sarah Bowe. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Zachariah, James B., Sarah, Martha, Mary Elizabeth and Nancy. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Richmond, Beacherson and Piety. He died in Coosa Co., AL.-
