Carter Burwell 
Carter was born on October 25th, 1716 in "Fairfield", Gloucester Co., Virginia. Carter's father was Nathaniel Burwell and his mother was Elizabeth Carter. His paternal grandparents were Lewis Burwell and Abigail Smith; his maternal grandparents were Robert Carter and Judith Armistead. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Lewis, ?, Robert Carter, Elizabeth and Judith. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named John Carter, George, Robert Carter and Virginia Carter. He died at the age of 60 on January 3rd, 1777.-
