Lewis Burwell 
Lewis was born before 1653. Lewis' father was Lewis Burwell and his mother was Lucy Higginson. His paternal grandparents were Edward Burwell and Dorothy Bedell; his maternal grandparents were Robert Higginson and Joanna Tokesy. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named George, Philip, Lucy, Elizabeth and Jane. He died on December 19th, 1710 in VA. He was buried in "Carter's Creek", Fairfield, Gloucester Co., VA.General Notes

Here Lyeth the Body of Honble Lewis Burwell son of Maj Lewis Burwell & Lucy his wife of the County of Gloucester who first Married Abigail Smith of ye family of ye Cacons by whom he had four Sons and Six Daughters and after her Death to martha the widow of ye Honble William Cole by whom he also had tow Sons and three Daughters and Departed this Life the 19th Day of December Anno Domini 1710 Leaveing behind him three Sons and Six Daughters.
