Robert Meredith was born on August 29th, 1845. Robert Meredith's father was Thomas Cary Anderson and his mother was Jemima Anne Meredith. His paternal grandparents were Matthew Anderson and Martha Tanner; his maternal grandparents were William Meredith and Sarah Ford Gardener. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William A., Matthew L., Thomas C., Sallie Tanner, Lucy Ann, Patty Betty and Mary Frances. He was the second youngest of the eight children.-
