Mary Frances was born on May 16th, 1848. Mary Frances' father was Thomas Cary Anderson and her mother was Jemima Anne Meredith. Her paternal grandparents were Matthew Anderson and Martha Tanner; her maternal grandparents were William Meredith and Sarah Ford Gardener. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William A., Matthew L., Thomas C., Robert Meredith, Sallie Tanner, Lucy Ann and Patty Betty. She was the youngest of the eight children.-
