Sophia Hammett

Sophia was born in 1831 in St. Mary's Co., MD.¹ Sophia's father was Henry Hammett and her mother was Catherine Wise. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Hammett and Nancy Biscoe. She had a brother and two sisters, named James H. B., Eliza and Mary Celestia. She was the oldest of the four children. She had five half-brothers and a half-sister, named William S, George A, Samuel Biscoe, McKelva, Washington and Anjaline R. She died at the age of 28 on May 7th, 1859 in Bedlam's Neck, Avenue, MD.
