Mary "Polly" Clayton

Mary "Polly" was born in 1793.¹ Mary "Polly"'s father was James Clayton and her mother was Sarah Carraway. Her maternal grandparents were Nathaniel Carraway and Mary Whitehurst. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Dempsey, James, Betsey, Fanny, Rhoda Ann and Rhoda Ann (II). She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Joshua Elliott, Elijah Mixon, William McKendree, Harriet Asbury and Johanna Bruce "Jo".
