Gertrude was born on June 8th, 1869.  Gertrude's father was Henry(Harry) Alexander Findlay and her mother was Jane Watson.  Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Findlay and Sarah Knackston. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Percy, Leonard, Alma, Emily, Mildred and Lavinia.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 78 on January 18th, 1948.

Gertrude and Charles were married on April 2nd, 1888.  They had three daughters named Elsie, Ruby and Vera.
