Leonard was born on August 8th, 1874.  Leonard's father was Henry(Harry) Alexander Findlay and his mother was Jane Watson.  His paternal grandparents were Alexander Findlay and Sarah Knackston. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Percy, Alma, Emily, Gertrude, Mildred and Lavinia.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 80 on August 10th, 1954.

Leonard and Ethal were married on May 24th, 1899.  They had a son and a daughter, named Arthur and Sylvia.
