Ruby was born on February 1st, 1891.  Ruby's father was Charles James Newey and her mother was Gertrude Louisa Findlay.  Her maternal grandparents were Henry(Harry) Alexander Findlay and Jane Watson. She had two sisters named Elsie and Vera.  She was the second oldest of the three children.
