Elizabeth Jane was born in 1870 in East Peckham, Kent, England.  Elizabeth Jane's father was John Walter MARTIN and her mother was Mary MARTIN.  Her paternal grandparents were John MARTIN and Mary; her maternal grandparents were William MARTIN and Mary TURNER. She had two brothers and four sisters, named George Henry, Henry, Rose A, Minnie, Emily and Clara Louisa.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.
