Sarah was born in 1784 in Leeds, Kent.  Sarah's father was James BOULDEN and her mother was Catherine PATTENDEN.  Her paternal grandparents were David BOULDEN and Sarah STANLEY. She had four brothers and a sister, named David, James, George, Thomas Tonge and Ann.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
