Christian was born on February 18th, 1846 in Leipzig (Leibzig), Bessarabia, Russia (now Ukraine).1   Christian's father was Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and his mother was Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning.  His paternal grandparents were Gottfried Sprecher and Anna Katharina Sokolosky (Sprecher). He had six brothers and four sisters, named Friedrick, Gottlieb, Carl, Samuel, August, Dan, Anna, Juliana, Louisa and Christina.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He had a half-brother named Michael.  He died at the age of 61 on November 30th, 1907 in Tripp, Hutchinson County, South Dakota, USA.1 

Christian's first family

Christian and Anna were married in a religious & civil ceremony about January 2nd, 1866 in Leipzig (Leibzig), Bessarabia, Russia (now Ukraine).1  They had four sons and three daughters, named Samuel, Daniel, Emil, August, Katharina, Magdalena and Paulina.


Christian's second family

Christian and Justina were married in a religious & civil ceremony on April 13th, 1890 in Rosenfeld, Hutchinson County, South Dakota, USA.1  They had two daughters named Emilia and Ottilia.
