Daniel was born on January 4th, 1877 in Leipzig (Leibzig), Bessarabia, Russia (now Ukraine).1  Daniel's father was Christian Leberecht Sprecher and his mother was Anna Justina Hintz (Sprecher).  His paternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Emil, August, Katharina, Magdalena and Paulina.  He was the third oldest of the seven children. He had two half-sisters named Emilia and Ottilia.  He died about 1878.1
